Getting to Know Your Therapist

ATTENTION - I will be switching to home visits only starting September 2014.  The current times I have open in the Fall are 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.  I also have limited openings in the evening for older school age kids.

 

Emily A. Dlugasch is a Speech-Language Pathologist certified by
the American Speech-Language Association (ASHA) and licensed with the
Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Health Professionals and Department of Education. She was born and raised in New Jersey, and graduated from University of Mary Washington (Fredericksburg, Virginia) with a Bachelor of Arts and received a Master of Science degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology from College Misericordia (Dallas, Pennsylvania).



Prior to becoming a Speech and Language Pathologist, Emily
worked at NBC Network news in Washington, D.C. During which time she was nominated for an Emmy for outstanding news coverage during the 9/11 tragedy.  Emily has worked with the ARC of Montgomery County and the Hazelton Pennsylvania School District. She completed her Clinical Fellowship with the Falls Church School District and the Inova Hospital Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her experiences include treating children with articulation, language, voice, fluency, pragmatic and cognitive delays. When not in therapy she enjoys volunteering her time with the children at Jill’s House. Emily is an avid tennis player and has completed PTR training to teach others how to play tennis. 





She is excited about serving local Northern Virginia residents at Kid’s Communication Corner, LLC. Emily strives to provide each invidual child with an enviornment that encourages self-discovery and a commitment to learning. Ultimately, Emily has but one goal: the optimal development of your child.
